π Our Privacy Commitment
QuickHardwareCheck is built with your privacy in mind. We believe that hardware testing should be completely private and secure. That's why all tests run entirely in your browser - no data is ever uploaded to our servers.
π What Data We Collect
The short answer: Almost nothing.
- βHardware Test Data: All microphone, camera, speaker, keyboard, mouse, and touch test data stays in your browser. We never see it, store it, or transmit it.
- βWeb Analytics: We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand how visitors use our site (page views, time on site, general location). This helps us improve the tool. No personally identifiable information is collected.
- βLocal Storage: We may store minimal preferences in your browser's localStorage (such as whether you've completed certain tests). This data never leaves your device and you can clear it anytime.
βοΈ How Your Hardware Tests Work
When you test your microphone, camera, or other hardware:
- 1Your browser requests permission to access the device (microphone, camera, etc.)
- 2If you grant permission, your browser provides access to the device
- 3All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript
- 4Results are displayed to you instantly
- 5No data is uploaded, recorded, or stored on our servers
We don't even have the technical infrastructure to receive or store your test data - it's impossible for us to access it.
π Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- β’Ahrefs Web Analytics: Privacy-focused web analytics that doesn't use cookies and respects Do Not Track. Learn more at Ahrefs Privacy Policy.
- β’Google Fonts: We load the Inter font from Google Fonts for better typography. Google may collect basic font usage data.
- β’Vercel (Hosting): Our site is hosted on Vercel. They may collect basic server logs (IP addresses, request URLs) for security and performance purposes.
π« Browser Permissions
QuickHardwareCheck may request the following browser permissions:
- π€Microphone access: Required for the microphone test only. You can deny this permission and use other tests.
- πΉCamera access: Required for the camera test only. You can deny this permission and use other tests.
These permissions are requested only when you click the relevant test button. You can revoke these permissions at any time through your browser settings.
βοΈ Your Rights
Since we don't collect or store your personal data, there's nothing for us to delete, modify, or export. However, you can:
- βClear your browser's localStorage to remove any saved preferences
- βRevoke camera/microphone permissions through your browser settings
- βUse browser privacy features like Private/Incognito mode
- βBlock analytics scripts using ad blockers or privacy extensions
πΆ Children's Privacy
QuickHardwareCheck does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Our service is designed to be completely privacy-preserving for all users.
π Changes to This Policy

β Questions?
If you have any questions about this privacy policy, rest assured that all hardware tests are performed entirely within your browser using standard Web APIs. No data is transmitted to our servers.
